Seattle Lumberjacks #4
Backfield in Motion Seattle Lumberjacks Book 4 edition by Jami Davenport Literature Fiction eBooks
Such a huge fan of Jami Davenport's Seattle Lumberjack series! I've been eagerly awaiting Bruiser's book for awhile now, and his story with Mac definitely didn't disappoint! Both Bruiser and Mac had things happen in their past that tested their relationship throughout the book. Bruiser felt guilty about his twin brother, while Mac was trying to help her father have closure over what happened with her brother's disappearance. Bruiser and Mac fought over this, but they always found themselves back in each other's arms. Along the way, you see the rest of the Seattle Lumberjacks gang and what they're up to! It sure made for some laugh out loud moments!
We also were introduced to Elliot, a young boy who was badly burned. You can't help, but to root for him. Bruiser met him in the hospital and befriended him. He became very important to Bruiser and Mac.
If you're a fan of Jami's books, love football, and crime detective stories, you will love this book! Looking forward to reading Brett's book, and can't wait for her spinoff series that deals with the rookies from the Seattle Lumberjacks!

Backfield in Motion Seattle Lumberjacks Book 4 edition by Jami Davenport Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I really like Jami Davenport's Lumberjack series, but for some reason, I had a hard time liking Bruiser. He had his moments where he was a good guy, but they were few and far between. It was a good thing that we got his POV otherwise I wouldn't have liked him AT ALL. What I liked was getting to know Brett a little bit, because his book is next!
I must admit Jami Davenport kept me tied up turning pages with this one. Seems we get not only Bruiser and Mac's romance, but an unsolved mystery also. Everything comes together in the end though. Definitely keeps you engrossed.
Davenports books in this series have tended to start a bit slow and repetitive, but the 2nd halves always made up for it. I've always given her solid 4s for greatbwriting and attention to detail. This time, she paced it perfectly! There is everything you can love in a book, right down to the cat. (As a cat lover, I adore that she always has a kitty in her book!) So definitely get this book, and I hope that she keeps up the 5 star writing AND that we get Bretts story very soon because he is so sweet.. plus he's veteran.. although there is only a one referral to this. My son is a US Army soldier.. I have a soft spot for them.
Bruiser and Mac's story is by far my favorite in the Seattle Lumberjack series to-date. I think this writer gets better and better with every book. Jami Davenport writes really strong males. Her heroes come alive on the page and Mac is the perfect foil for this latest hero. She sees beyond his pretty face and playboy facade to the sensitive underbelly of this genuinely sexy footballer. Since I love mysteries, I was glad to see on in this book, too. I read this late into the night, or should I say early morning hours, unable to put it down.
The love scenes sizzle. It's a Beauty and The Beast, Cinderella story with a few delicious surprises thrown in that will tug and your heartstrings and make you fall in love with this couple. Definitely Recommend. LOVED it!!!!
Bruiser, despite his name, is a pretty boy. Mac, like her name, is a girl who is considered one of the guys. They're friends but Mac has always wanted more. When Bruiser offers to help her get something she really wants, which means they have to go on a date to do it, she jumps at the chance even though she knows, without a doubt, she's not the kind of girl he usually chooses.
This was fun to read, it was nice to see how they grew together throughout the story. Even with the obstacles in their way, they find their chance.
I discovered this series shortly after the first book was released and have been hooked ever since. Each book I finish I don't know how she can make me love another character as much as she just did, but Jami never disappoints.
Bruiser and Mac are both dealing with daemons from their past and have trouble with navigating their feelings for each other because of who they are and the baggage they carry. The journey is all the fun for the reader, and Jami really takes you on one. It's full of varying emotions, and will not disappoint.
If you are a long time fan of these hunky football men, or if you're just finding this series, you can't go wrong.
This was another great romance by Jami Davenport, and in this case, it also depicts the story of a family who has a dissapeared member. Mac's brother has been missing for three years and she and her father have been constantly searching for clues, dedicating all their free time to finding him. Mac is beggining to feel like she doesn't have a life and is missing having someone special. She also misses her father who is dedicated to finding her brother and has forgotten to be a dad to her. She has a crush on Bruiser since he started playing with the Slumberjacks, but he sees her as one of the guys. Bruiser is already having sexy dreams with Mac but they don't get together until after he escorts her to a charity thing and she dresses completely different from her usual tomboy look. They sorta get together but Bruiser has deep issues that prevent from anyone getting real close to him. They both have to slug thru their commitment problems and it was a pleasure to read as their feeling developed and their relationship took form.
