I have very quickly become a fan of Zoe S. Figueroa's work, marked as it is by an appreciation for the flexibility of gender roles, and an understanding of gender politics. There is so much thought, emotion, and passion to those stories that they are satisfying on multiple levels.Eight Days in Japan as a Girl may just be Zoe’s best yet, a romantic adventure that works as a gender transformation tale, a romance, and a cultural travelogue. Really, if you read this for nothing else, the tour of Japan is a wonderful read all on its own, but it is not just a travelogue, it is a Gender Transformation Travelogue, and that is where the magic comes in.
During one of the first nights of their vacation, Melissa introduces Shahin to an old boyfriend, a biotech researcher working on an advanced treatment for sex affirmation. Neither Nico nor Shahin is transgender, but Melissa knows they share a secret fantasy. Shahin has always wanted to experience life as a woman, while Nico has always wanted to be with a man who has been put in the body of a woman. It is not about the act of transformation or any sort of gender dysphoria, but an intellectual curiosity about the dichotomy of conflicting genders. It is a novel approach to gender, and I liked how the story was able to explore the experience itself.
Once transformed, Melissa and Shahin continue with their vacation, discovering as much about her culture as they do his gender. More sensual than erotic, this is a tastefully written story that does a lovely job of contrasting their journeys, ultimately leading Melissa to appreciate the cultural heritage she tried so hard to deny in her youth.

This is one of the most awesome, moving, stories of transformation I have ever read.... in 50 years! The " tourbook" portions kind of drug along for me.... luckily I learned how to "college read" to get to the important parts'
When s/he began their last night as female lovers I had a few tears. When she drank the "antidote" (I would rather have taken cyanide, were it me!) I was on full-blown sobs.
For anyone with Transgender leanings..... and yes, the sex is awesome too!
Shahin and his girlfriend Melissa are taking a vacation to Japan. Melissa has a surprise for Shahin shortly after they arrive Shahin had always fantasized of being a girl. An old college friend of Melissa's works for a company that has developed a drug which, working at the cellular level, can transform a person's gender. Melissa arranges for Shahin to take this drug and experience their vacation as a girl.
This is a really wonderfully told story. I love the detail of Shahin's experience as she experiences so many new things. The gender transformation part of the story is very well done, there are plenty of erotic scenes which are also very well done, and the descriptions of Japan and the sites the two visit are fascinating. Having all this combined into one very well told story is really a treat.
This is a book that tells of a boy Sharin who while in Japan willingly drinks a potion that turns him Into a hot girl. Minutes later he is having sex with a guy for the first time .Soon he is getting it on with his girlfriend (Melissa)who he has shared the fantasy of being a girl and having sex as girl .In this book you will follow Sharin as he( she) travels around Japan with Melissa and has sex with guys and Melissa. This book has some historical places mixed in the story .Probably a little to much for me and could use more sex scenes which is why I gave it a four star rating. The book is worth the money spent on it in my opinion.
